Loss & Bereavement
When we lose someone to death, our grief marks a sudden loss. Jewish tradition prescribes for us stages of mourning and lament. We attempt to face our loss with courage and faith. The mourners need sympathy, love and care. There are many laws and rituals particular to the Jewish funeral and bereavement. Rabbi Kurry believes that what is most important is to consider what brings comfort to the mourners. Harmonious accommodation of everyone involved comes before any Jewish legal requirements or strictures. Interfaith family members will be encouraged to take part in the services.
